Workshop Description

The centuries-old ministry of spiritual direction is increasingly sought out today by those desiring a greater awareness of, and intentionality around, their relationship with God. For those working in any kind of ministerial capacity, spiritual direction is an important (some would say critical) aid for nurturing an on-going attentiveness to personal spiritual growth. The presentation will be divided into three parts:

  1. A description of spiritual direction and what one talks about with a spiritual director. Included is how spiritual direction differs from other kinds of companioning relationships, the importance of spiritual direction for those in ministerial positions, and how to find a spiritual director. We will view a short video of those sharing their own experiences of spiritual direction.
  2. A demonstration of a spiritual direction session by the presenters.
  3. A time for questions and discussion.

Following the workshop, ConNext participants will have the opportunity to meet with one of the presenters for 20-minute spiritual direction sessions on a sign-up basis. Priority will be given to those attending the spiritual direction workshop, but anyone attending the summit can sign-up for spiritual direction sessions (space permitting).
